Satriya Krisna is a tenor celebrated for his warm lyrical voice and robust, velvet tone. Born in Bandung, Indonesia, and now based in Geneva, he is widely recognised as the first Indonesian tenor to pursue an international opera career. He initially studied architecture before his passion for music led him to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he graduated summa cum laude, earning his Bachelor of Music in 2012 and his Master of Music (cum laude) in 2015 under the tutelage of Henny Diemer. He subsequently became a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio, London (2017–18), the Verbier Festival Academy (2017), and Garsington Opera (2020–21), and is also a Samling Artist and an alumnus of the Georg Solti Accademia.

His operatic career has taken him to some of the most prestigious stages in Europe. Engagements have included Don Jose in Carmen with Opera North and Longborough Festival Opera, Lensky in Eugene Onegin with Garsington Opera, Cavaradossi in Tosca and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly for Diva Opera, Ferrando in Così fan tutte with Opera North, and Pang in Turandot with Cambridge Philharmonic. As a BAME fellow of the English National Opera, he covered the Peasant in Luisa Miller and the Gamekeeper in Rusalka. During his studies, he made his professional debut as Sporting Life in Porgy and Bess and covered Lurcanio in Ariodante at the Dutch National Opera.

On the concert stage, he has appeared as soloist in Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde with the City of London Sinfonia (2024), recorded Dvorak’s Stabat Mater alongside Ed Spanjaard in the Netherlands and performed in Halifax (2025), Verdi's Requiem at Manchester University (2023), and in Handel's Messiah and Bach cantatas at venues in the Netherlands. Earlier in his career he performed with the Philips Symphony Orchestra at the Grachtenfestival and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.

Among his many distinctions, Satriya was awarded Third Prize, Audience Prize, and Student Jury Prize at the International Student Lied Duo Competition 2017, and the Judges’ Discretionary Prize at Fulham Opera’s Robert Presley Memorial Verdi Prize. He held a full scholarship to the Verbier Festival Academy, where he studied with Thomas Hampson, Sir Thomas Allen, and Thomas Quasthoff, and is a recipient of the Opera Awards Foundation bursary (2017–19).

His 2024/25 season engagements included the First Armed Man in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Opera North and his role debut as Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème with Scottish Opera. Engagements for 2026/27 include his debut at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and at the Royal Ballet and Opera as the First Man in Armour in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.
